Title:  Near-infrared brain imaging for stroke rehabilitation

Abstract:  One main thrust of this project is to investigate the ability of diffuse optical techniques to detect learning-related changes in relatively simple motor learning tasks, and to compare such findings to those obtained from simultaneously acquired fMRI maps.

Title:  Regional cerebral activation on fMRI as a predictor of outcome following traumatic brain injury (TBI)

Abstract:  This project examines executive function and verbal learning in both control and brain injury populations, seeking to understand the neuronal recruitment patterns associated with cued and un-cued verbal learning.

Title:  Near-infrared brain imaging for space medicine

Abstract:  Two components of this project relate to cognitive neuroscience: (1) an investigation of the neuronal correlates of complex motor tasks requiring planning and time estimation, and (2) an investigation of the neuronal correlates of sleep deprivation while performing such a task.
