We are interested in finding out more about how the brain works through cognitive neuroscience. In order to look at which parts of the brain are activated and when they are active, we use multimodal imaging techniques.
FMRI (functional magnetic resonance imaging) tells us about which parts of the brain are activated.
ERPs (event-related potentials) tell us about when the brain is activated.
MEG (magneto-encephalography) tells us about both where and when the brain is activated.
Our aim is to apply these methods to advance our understanding of schizophrenia. We are particularly interested in language dysfunction in schizophrenia that may lead to the clinical symptom of thought disorder.
