I'm interested in the similarities between the comprehension of images and language, especially sequential images as found in comics, with the question "how does the mind/brain create meaning out of sequences of images?" My answer so far: it uses a "grammar" similar to how sequential words create meaning in sentences. Most of my projects revolve around studying the balance of semantics and grammar in this visual language. (My website: www.emaki.net)
