Imaging/Pathology Correlation

We are exploring whether or not advanced MRI analysis techniques such as perfusion, diffusion, and permeability imaging changes be used to distinguish treatment related changes versus active tumor growth. In conjunction with Neuro-Oncologists and Medical Oncologists, we are using MRI and PET imaging techniques to predict treatment response, patterns of relapse, and drug mechanism of action. We are developing advanced MRI analysis techniques using perfusion, diffusion, and permeability imaging to predict the molecular make up of a tumor.

We are working on algorithms to improve imaging analysis in terms of acquisition protocols, segmentation, registration, and multimodal analysis when studying tumor biology?  We are exploring new imaging tools and mathematical modeling techniques to study tumor biology and growth patterns. We are correlating histology to ex vivo MRI and then to in vivo MRI to better understand pre-morbid imaging changes.
