Programmer

Reporting to the Principal Investigator, the programmer is responsible for developing, managing, and leading multiple on-going data repositories and image analysis pipelines in a premier academic imaging center.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, manage, and lead multiple on-going data repositories and image analysis pipelines  
  • Integrate workflows into 3D Slicer
  • Spearhead MGH efforts to develop web-based tools for cancer research and scientific collaboration at NCIPHub (http://nciphub.org).
  • Work in an interdisciplinary group and be responsible for the coordination, data management and analysis for a number of projects related to brain tumor imaging. Will be responsible for the design, implementation and management of the a database.

Requirements:

  • BS in computer science, physics or engineering required
  • Three years experience in Linux (UNIX)-based environments is required
  • Three years experience in python, MATLAB programming is required
  • Experience with C++ programming is preferred
  • Experience with relational database application development is preferred
  • Experience with web programming (HTML, CSS, WebGL) is preferred
  • Experience with managing large scale imaging data is preferred

Skills/Competencies:

  • Proficiency in Python, C++, web programming, databases is required.
  • Requires strong organizational and analytical skills, excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills. A willingness to learn is a must.

Research Assistant

The nature of this work is to support and facilitate the smooth flow of data for a variety of projects and requires basic computer programming skills and strong organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Scan patients in the MRI
  • Gather MRI and clinical data from patient charts for analysis
  • Organize imaging/clinical data so that it can be easily analyzed
  • Preliminary processing of MRI data using Matlab, Bash, Python or similar
  • Basic quality assurance checks of incoming imaging data using Matlab, Bash, Python or similar
  • Manage lab website and wiki
  • 2 year commitment preferred

Skills Required:

  • Facility with computer programming and Matlab
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Ability to multitask
  • Comfort in interacting with patients

Education/Licenses Required:

B.S. Required

Experience:

No prior experience required, but previous neuroimaging and computer programming skills are preferred. Must be able to work with multiple operating systems and environments.
