DESCRIPTION OF WORK / BIOSKETCH
I work on developing novel optical imaging tools for molecular imaging. My present work is focussed on exploiting fluorescence lifetime as a functional reporter for in-vivo imaging. In our lab, we have developed a time domain imaging system that is capable of resolving lifetime sensitive targets in living mice, with millimeter scale spatial resolution. With concurrent advances in the chemical sysnthesis of fluorescent reporter probes and understanding of the molecular biology of disease, the tools in our laboratory have the potential to advance optical molecular imaging as a viable alternative to PET, MRI and CT in both the pharmaceutical and clinical settings.
