Creating a Media Wiki

These instructions are for requesting the creation of a Wiki pertinent to Martinos Center activities at the Martinos Center.

Users can request a Wiki creation by filling out and submitting the following form. Fields in red are required.

NOTE: Wiki creation requests are only accepted from users with Martinos Center accounts. Example: an owner address such as <username>@nmr.mgh.harvard.edu. This person will be the Wiki SysOp responsible for creating accounts and other administrivia.

NOTE: The Martinos Center provides Wikis using the MediaWiki software.

Only logged in Wiki users will be able to edit pages. Only the Wiki Sysop will be able to create Wiki user accounts.

Security levels. How widely do you want your Wiki visible? Please consider carefully. Options are

  • No restrictions, anyone on the Internet can see it.
  • Only Martinos Center personnel can see it.
  • Only a specific lab oriented linux group can see it.
The long or full name for the Wiki (such as Neural Systems or MartinosWiki or "Why & How" Seminar Series):
Short name to be used in your Wiki's URL, ex:
https://gate.nmr.mgh.harvard.edu/wiki/<ShortName>
E-mail address of the person (Wiki owner or Wiki SysOP) responsible for the Wiki (must be a local nmr.mgh.harvard.edu address):
Who should be able to see your wiki? (Anyone, Martinos Center, Your Lab Only)
If you selected "Your Lab Only" above, which linux group should have access?
Comments (Can include a request for a new lab group.):

After the Wiki is created an e-mail message will be sent to the designated Wiki SysOp giving the URL of the Wiki and how to set up accounts.
