"Brain, Body and Environment in Autism: From Genetically Hard-wired to Active Treatable Chronic Illness"
With rising numbers of people with autism and with other chronic illnesses, and with global environmental changes that are harder than ever to dismiss or deny, are we looking at a situation where the bodies and brains of the more vulnerable among us are being pushed beyond a point of tolerance? Is autism the tip of the iceberg in a much larger health crisis? If so, the chronic features may offer hope since they have potentially treatable dimensions. This talk will review evidence, consider practical implications and consider what to do in everyday life and more broadly.
