Dr. Chens research lies at the interface of multi-modal dynamic functional imaging, statistical signal analysis, and neuroscience. She is interested in integrating state-of-the-art multi-modal imaging techniques to achieve novel, comprehensive insights into brain function and physiology. One line of her work integrates high-temporal-resolution functional PET-MRI to probe the neuroenergetic and neuromodulatory mechanisms underlying brain functional dynamics. A second line advances ultra-high-field fMRI to improve the neuronal specificity and sensitivity of hemodynamic measures, and to uncover novel biomarkers of brain autonomic physiology.
