I am a Cognitive Neuroscientist with a strong background in computational neuroimaging. My research focuses on developing and applying advanced automated diffusion MRI (dMRI) tractography tools to delineate connectional neuroanatomy and quantify white matter pathology in the central nervous system.
A central component of my research ismulti-scale validation. By integrating high-resolutionex vivo MRI, optical imaging, and animal tracer data, I evaluate and refine tractography algorithms to enhance anatomical accuracy and deepen our understanding of brain connectivity. This work has enabled the development ofwhite matter atlasesfrom sub-millimeter dMRI, which improve automated reconstruction of pathways and support applications such asdeep brain stimulation (DBS) targetingin clinical and research contexts.
I am particularly interested in elucidating brain circuit dysfunction in mental illness, using in vivo mapping and microstructural characterization of axonal pathways to identify biomarkers of neuroinflammation and neurodegeneration, improve prognostication, and define targets fortherapeutic interventionsaimed at promoting recovery.
