The main areas of TMS research at the Martinos Center include development of TMS analysis methods and basic research on brain function.

Methodology Development

TMS/EEG Software for source analysis of EEG signals recorded during TMS

Multimodal integration of TMS, MEG, EEG, MRI, fMRI, and optical imaging.

Improvement of TMS localization methods and tools.

    Basic Research on Brain Function

At the Martinos Center, researchers use TMS, often in conjunction with MEG, EEG, MRI, fMRI, and optical imaging to obtain maps of brain activity in cognitive neuroscience studies carefully designed to investigate the workings of the normal and diseased brain.
